Services — E-commerce development
E-commerce development, built around how you actually sell.
THE AKYN builds e-commerce storefronts and the systems behind them — on Shopify where it fits, custom where it does not. For businesses in Miami, across Florida and throughout the United States.
What's included
- Custom storefront design and build
- Product and collection architecture
- Payment, shipping and tax configuration
- Third-party and API integrations
- Performance and technical optimisation
- Migration from an existing platform

Platform choice
Shopify, or something built for you.
Most stores should be on Shopify. It handles payments, tax, fraud and PCI compliance better than a custom build will for a fraction of the cost, and the ecosystem solves problems you would otherwise pay to solve twice.
Custom development earns its place when the business does something Shopify was not shaped for — unusual product configuration, complex pricing logic, an integration with systems that predate the store, or a catalogue that does not behave like a catalogue.
We will tell you which one you are, including when the honest answer is that you do not need us to build anything custom at all.
Who it's for
Businesses where the store is the business.
This is for companies whose revenue depends on the storefront working properly, not on it looking pleasant. The difference shows up in the parts nobody sees: how variants are structured, whether inventory syncs, what happens when a payment fails.
- Brands outgrowing an off-the-shelf theme
- Businesses replatforming from WooCommerce or Magento
- Stores needing ERP, inventory or fulfilment integration
- Catalogues too complex for a standard product model
- B2B sellers needing pricing or account logic
What we solve
Where e-commerce builds usually go wrong.
Integrations bolted on afterwards. When inventory, fulfilment and accounting are connected as an afterthought, the store becomes a manual job. Deciding the data flow before the build is cheaper than fixing it after.
Performance treated as a launch-week problem. Apps, scripts and unoptimised media accumulate quietly, and by the time anyone measures it the store is slow on exactly the mobile connections most customers use.
Migrations that lose search visibility. Replatforming without mapping URLs, redirects and structured data discards traffic that took years to earn — and it is entirely avoidable with planning.
Our process
Scope, build, launch, hand over.
01 — Scope
We map what the store must do, what it connects to and what the data looks like. You get a written scope and a fixed cost before anything begins.
02 — Design and build
Storefront designed and approved, then built: templates, product architecture, integrations and checkout. Tested on real devices, not simulators.
03 — Launch and handover
Migration, redirects, domain and go-live. You get the code and the store on your own account, with documentation for whoever maintains it next.

Common questions
How much does e-commerce development cost?
Projects start at $1,000. A straightforward Shopify storefront sits near the lower end; a custom build with integrations and migration sits well above it. You get a fixed scope and cost in writing before work starts.
How long does an e-commerce build take?
Most run three to six weeks from kick-off to launch. Migrations and custom integrations extend that, and we tell you the realistic timeline with the estimate rather than after you have committed.
Should I use Shopify or a custom platform?
Shopify for most businesses — it solves payments, tax and compliance cheaply and well. Custom when your product model, pricing or integrations genuinely do not fit. We would rather talk you onto Shopify than sell you a build you do not need.
Can you migrate our existing store?
Yes. We carry products, collections, customers and content across, and map every URL that has search value to its new home so the migration does not cost you traffic.
Do you work with businesses outside Miami?
Yes. We are based in Miami, Florida and build for businesses across the United States. The whole process runs remotely.
