Why this exists
Most of what you find on this is written to sell you something.
Search for what a Shopify store costs and you will mostly find agency pages that avoid the number, or comparison sites paid by whichever platform they recommend. That is not useful when you are trying to budget.
These pieces give the actual ranges, the actual timelines and the honest trade-offs, including the cases where the answer is that you should not hire anyone yet.
