Services — Brand systems
A brand system, not just a logo.
THE AKYN builds brand systems: identity, typography, colour, imagery direction and the rules that hold them together — so the brand survives contact with a storefront, a marketplace listing and a shipping box.
What's included
- Logo and mark development
- Typography and colour system
- Imagery and art direction
- Packaging and marketplace application
- Usage rules and file library
- Application across storefront and channels

Who it's for
Brands that need to look established on day one.
A new brand has no reviews, no history and no reputation. Design is the only evidence a first-time buyer has that you are a real business rather than a drop-shipper who will vanish in March.
That is not vanity — it is the cheapest trust you can buy, and it compounds. A template sells once; a brand people recognise sells for years.
- Founders launching a first product
- Brands selling across several channels at once
- Businesses whose look has drifted over time
- Products where packaging is part of the experience
- Companies preparing for a website rebuild
What a system includes
Rules, not just assets.
Most brand work hands over a logo and a colour swatch and calls it identity. What breaks a brand is everything after that: the Amazon listing shot on a different background, the Instagram post in a different typeface, the shipping box nobody art-directed.
A system is the set of decisions that stop that happening — how type is set, how photography is framed, how the mark behaves when it has to sit in a 60-pixel square. It is what lets someone who is not you produce something that still looks like you.
Our process
Direction before execution.
01 — Direction
We agree what the brand has to signal and to whom, and show directions before refining one. Cheaper to change a direction than a finished system.
02 — Build the system
Mark, typography, colour, imagery direction and the rules that govern them, built out across the applications you actually use.
03 — Handover
Files in the formats printers, developers and marketplaces need, with usage rules written for a human rather than a designer.

Brands built end to end.
Most of the brands we work on need the identity and the storefront to arrive together — the system is what keeps the two consistent as the business adds channels.
Common questions
Do I get the source files?
Yes. Vector logo files, the type and colour specifications and the usage rules are yours on delivery, in the formats a printer, a developer or a marketplace will ask for.
Can you work with our existing logo?
Often, yes. If the mark is sound we build the system around it rather than charging you to replace something that already works. If it genuinely is not working we will say so and explain why.
How long does a brand system take?
Usually two to four weeks depending on how many applications it has to cover. It normally runs alongside or just ahead of a storefront build.
Do you design packaging?
We provide the design and art direction for packaging as part of the system. Production, dielines and printing are handled by your printer, and we hand over files in the format they need.
