Work — Apparel
A streetwear brand where the product is the sentence.
Naked Wear sells minimal statement t-shirts — dark-humour typography on plain cotton, printed to order. There is no photography budget to hide behind and no logo anyone recognises yet. The line on the shirt is the entire product, so the storefront had to make typography do the selling.

The challenge
Selling a shirt whose value is a joke.
Statement apparel is unusually hard to merchandise. The garment is a commodity — soft unisex cotton, available from a hundred sellers — and the thing people actually buy is the line printed on it. That means the storefront cannot lean on fabric detail or lifestyle photography the way a normal apparel brand does.
It also means browsing is the purchase. Nobody arrives searching for a specific tee; they scroll until a line lands. The site had to be built for that behaviour rather than for the search-and-filter model most apparel stores copy.
Approach
Let the typography carry it, and curate by mood.
We built the product grid so the line reads before anything else, at a size where you can scan a dozen without opening any of them. Product names are written as the statement itself rather than as SKU descriptions, which also means each product page has a genuinely unique, searchable title.
Collections are organised by mood rather than by garment type — Minimalist, For Her, Dark Humor. Sorting statement tees by colour or fit tells a buyer nothing. Sorting them by the kind of person who would wear them is the actual filter people apply in their head.
Print on demand shaped the rest. With no inventory risk there is no reason to hold a range back, so the store was built to absorb frequent drops without a redesign each time.
Scope of work
What we built.
- Brand system and visual identity
- Shopify storefront design and build
- Three curated mood-based collections
- Print-on-demand fulfilment integration
- Product naming and copy structure
- Size guide and replacement request flow
- Journal for editorial and organic search
- Instagram social proof integration
E-commerce strategy
Made to order, built to expand.
Print on demand removes the two things that usually kill a new apparel brand: upfront inventory cost and dead stock. The trade is margin and fulfilment control, which is the right trade before you know which designs sell.
The commercial mechanics are built into the storefront rather than bolted on — a free-shipping threshold above the single-unit price to encourage a second item, a bundle route, and a replacement-request flow so misprints are handled without a support backlog. Those are the parts that decide whether a print-on-demand brand is pleasant or exhausting to run.
Outcome
What the brand has now.
A live Shopify storefront with a coherent brand system, three curated collections, and a fulfilment model that lets the owner add designs without production risk. The operational flows — sizing, shipping, replacements, returns — are in place, which is the difference between a shop and a shop you can actually run.
No revenue or conversion figures are published here. The deliverable is verifiable: the store is live, it runs on the brand's own Shopify account, and the design system holds as the catalogue grows.
